Student Government has been in the process of centralizing all their available information for their soon-to-be revamped Student Activities website.

Lexi Andros, who is the vice president of social affairs detailed the purpose behind the redesigned website.

“The idea behind the website is really to get all of the information on all the clubs: when they meet, who the president is, who the advisor is, a description of the club, and kind of put it all together on this website,” Andros said.

Andros said it is a way for students to find out more information.

“Being able to post their events into a calendar so we can kind of spread the word electronically about what’s going on at NCC,” Andros said.

“The website is also being established to help advertise Student Government as well encouraging more students to become senators. Becoming a senator is a great opportunity to voice your opinion, get more involved and vote on crucial student body decisions.” Andros said.

The website will act as a huge directory, such as the one on the NCC website for professors, faculty and staff. Except it would be more elaborate with descriptions of clubs and spread awareness about the clubs. Student Government hopes the website to make this college community more interconnected and be united as a community.

The new site involved collaboration between the Computer Science club and Student Government, according to secretary Greg Gisolfi.

“It’s mostly the computer science club that’s organizing everything and they’re talking to Isabel, our president. This was actually a joint effort between Victoria Burgess from the Computer Science club and Dr. Bob Baer who is our former Director of Student Activities,” Gisolfi said.

Victoria Burgess, Maddy Vose and Vincent Filardi are the creators of the upcoming Student Government sponsored website.

Gisolfi hopes the website will be done in the next month or two. Student Government is soon going to contact clubs, club advisors and club presidents about a big meeting that is going to occur in the PepsiCo Theater on Nov. 16 from 2:30-4 p.m. If the president of the club cannot be in attendance, then a club representative will be acceptable. The meeting is an opportunity for the clubs to provide all relevant information to be put onto website.

Students can keep track and be informed about upcoming events or clubs by clicking their Facebook page, Student Government of Norwalk Community College.
